Sea Goddess

Found this Red Tipped Sea Goddess the other day on Molasses Reef. This is a invasive species that is thought to have caught a ride over on sea going ships from the Pacific. They have been spotted in the Key Biscanyne area for awhile now, just now starting to show up in the Keys.
It was a beautiful day diving, the wind had died down to below 10mph, the air temperature was in the mid to upper 80s. The water temperature was around 78, it had been 80 the day before.  So we are finally getting into summer temperatures.  Finally time to get rid of the wetsuit.

January 2nd, 2011

Finally got my housing back. I sent it to Ikelite months ago to fix a strobe problem, ended up finding additional problems. I now have an almost new housing and the strobe works. Only took 3 months or so.

Today was the first day since I got it back that the weather and winds were decent enough to get back out. Went out to Molasses Reef, of course, visibility was not great but it was ok. Water temperatue was right around 72 and the air tempture finally got to around 75 today. I have a rule, I don't get in the water if the air temp is lower than the water. Anyway, strobe is working and I am back taking pictures.
